Jennifer Gill, mezzo soprano, is equally at home on the opera, concert and musical theater stages. Ms. Gill made her mainstage Portland Opera debut in 2006 as Second Secretary to Mao in John Adams' Nixon in China. She recently performed with Portland Opera last season in their production of two one acts by Ravel, L'heure Espagnole and L'enfant et les Sortileges. Other roles with Portland Opera include; Minerva, goddess of war and wisdom in Portland Opera's production of Il ritorni di Ulisse in patria and Hansel in Hansel and Gretel with their outreach program. In 2004, Ms. Gill was a Finalist in the prestigious Eleanor Lieber Awards. In 2005, she was a Finalist and received the Marquis Award in the New York Classical Singer's Vocal Competition as a Young Artist. She is an active performer with the Portland Summer Festival and has sung the roles of ; Maddalena in Rigoletto, Alice in their production of Lucia di Lammermoor and Margret in the production of Wozzeck with the Astoria Music Festival.
